In today’s time, thinking of a life without WhatsApp is impossible. Everyone uses it to stay connected with loved ones, family and friends. Whether it is for personal or professional work, WhatsApp is the preferred choice for instant communication. This is why feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and stressed when an important message is deleted, or when someone deletes the sent messages before you can read it is obvious.

During these times, you look for ways to restore deleted WhatsApp chat, as it is the only way to see what was deleted, save important messages, and continue the conversation.

This guide explains how to do it and get deleted WhatsApp messages back. The methods below will work to retrieve messages deleted from an individual or group chat. So, without any delay, let us discover how you can turn back time and keep the conversation alive, no matter what action has been taken by the sender.

How to Recover WhatsApp Messages?

Although the application offers no direct or built-in way to retrieve deleted messages, several alternate ways will work.

Note : Recovery of the messages depends on the device you use. What works on Android might not work on iPhone. Here, we will explain ways to help Android users recover deleted WhatsApp messages.

Way 1 – Retrieving Deleted WhatsApp Messages Through Backup

Important : All these methods will work if enabled before the message is deleted. If you are enabling them right now, sadly, you won’t be able to restore already deleted WhatsApp messages.

To help users avoid losing data, WhatsApp offers a cloud-based backup solution. You can use it to save the day.

To ensure backup is enabled, open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Chat > Chat Backup. If enabled, you will see the Google account on which the backup is saved. Also, you will see when the backup was last updated.

Follow these steps to restore the chat using the backup.

1. Uninstall WhatsApp from your device.
2. Download and install the latest version of WhatsApp.

3. Enter your phone number and name that you use to run WhatsApp.

Enter your phone number
4. You will now get a prompt asking if you’d like to Restore chat from Google Drive. Tap on Restore to start the process.

Let the recovery process complete, and follow the on-screen instructions to install WhatsApp completely.  This will restore all the old messages that were backed up.

However, if the backup is not enabled, then? Does this mean you cannot get the deleted messages? Luckily,  there is another way to restore WhatsApp messages even without backup.

Way 2 – Restoring WhatsApp Messages Without Backup

If you were unaware of the cloud-based backup facility no worries, you can restore data from the Android Local Backup.

1. Go to File Manager on your Android phone.
2. Tap on WhatsApp.Tap on WhatsApp
3. Tap Databases folder > Search for a file named msgstore.db.crypt12 and modify its name to msgstore_BACK.db.crypt12. Do not use quotes.
4. Next, search for msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt12 and rename it to msgstore.db.crypt12 without quotes.
5. Uninstall WhatsApp and reinstall it from the Play Store.
6. There is no cloud backup, so you will be prompted to restore it from a local phone backup. Tap Restore to proceed.

7. Your most recent chats will now be restored.

Note : Since the backup space available for local backup is limited, this method only helps retrieve the latest messages.

Undoubtedly, these methods are suitable, but they are not accessible. To follow them each time, you must uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp. Isn’t there anything simpler,? Which can help restore deleted messages without deleting WhatsApp?

Fortunately, using Deleted Chat Recovery app, you can view deleted messages without uninstalling WhatsApp.

What is Deleted Chat Recovery?

Developed by Systweak Software, the same company that offers the app to send messages to an unknown number on WhatsApp, Deleted Chat Recovery allows viewing deleted messages. The only catch is that notifications should be enabled, and no chat should be muted. This powerful app helps view messages and media that were deleted. You can view messages and media when using it in individual or group chats.

Remember, the app will only work on deleted messages after installation. Here’s how you can use it.

Even if someone deletes the messages on their end, they will still be visible on this application, and you can simply retrieve deleted WhatsApp messages.

This is how, using this robust app, you can recover deleted messages from WhatsApp. Even if the app doesn’t offer the option to recover deleted messages or view them, you have Deleted Chat Recovery. Use the app and view deleted WhatsApp messages, images, videos, and audio files.

We hope you find the above information helpful. Share your feedback with us and review the app on the Play Store. It helps us to design better apps.

If you are a gamer or a user of a 3D application, you may have encountered an option called VSync and have questions about it like –

  • What is VSync?
  • Should you enable it? If yes, why and similar questions.

Before answering your questions, let’s understand that, as a gamer or designer, graphics are important for the gameplay to run smoothly. Any glitch in them can hamper your experience. However, one glitch that often irritates users is screen tearing. It’s when the screen splits into parts, and the whole scene looks broken.

VSync helps in avoiding these issues, but how? Let’s dive deeper and see how to turn on the VSync feature and use it wisely to prevent such problems. Of course! There are many other ways to deal with graphics-related issues. You can visit Systweak blogs for more information on how to deal with them. For now, let’s explore the possibility called VSync.

What is VSync In Games

VSync, or Vertical Synchronization, is a feature available in most games today. It syncs the vertical refresh rate of your monitor with the frame rate of your computer, helping prevent screen tearing.

Before we understand how VSync functions, let’s consider a real-life scenario –

Let’s say you have a monitor that refreshes 60 times per second (60Hz). And you have a very powerful graphic card that dishes out 150 FPS when playing a game. When this happens, this disparity will lead to screen tearing. You will start noticing cuts or artifacts on your screen.

Here’s how VSync works in such cases –

It imposes a frame rate cap, limiting the game’s maximum FPS to match your monitor’s refresh rate. With VSync enabled, since your GPU doesn’t render frames more than your monitor can handle, there is no screen tearing or stuttering.

It looks like VSync is all good—mostly yes! But just like any technology, VSync has its share of pros and cons.

Read Also : Fix Low Game FPS in Windows – Working Ways

Pros and Cons of VSync

Pros of VSync

  • It brings your graphics processor down to the same levels as your monitor’s.
  • It can be useful when playing old games where your graphics processor exceeds the graphical demand. In such scenarios, when processors go a lot faster and render old scenes, the very high frame rates may overheat the graphics processor. VSync prevents overheating and excessive pressure on the graphics processor.
  • It helps reduce the delay between input and screen response.
  • You get a stable frame rate.

Cons of VSync

As we mentioned before, when you enable VSync, you may have to face certain downsides –

  • Input lag increases when using VSync. This means there might be a noticeable delay between your actions in the game and when they appear on-screen. For instance, if you press a button, you might see the effect on the screen a moment later.
  • VSync may cause delays in keyboard and mouse commands. This can be detrimental if you play games that require fast reflexes when using mouse clicks and keyboard shortcuts.
  • VSync can cause noticeable stuttering, as it may force the game to wait for the next refresh cycle to display a new frame.

What Are The Different Kinds of VSync

VSync has been around for years. To enhance its capabilities, two prominent GPU companies, NVIDIA and AMD, have come with G-Sync and FreeSync, respectively. Both work to sync data and refresh rates with your GPU’s frame rate, so there is no stuttering and high image precision.

The only downside is that, unlike VSync, which is available for most PCs, your monitor needs to be compatible with either technology (G-Sync or Freesync).

How To Enable or Disable VSync?

Enabling VSync depends on your PC’s operating system and graphics card. More importantly, you can find this option in your graphics card’s settings. You can also enable VSync in a particular game’s settings. Let’s take examples of each –

In NVIDIA

Step 1 – Open NVIDIA Control Panel.
Step 2 – Click Manage 3D Settings.
Step 3 – Click on the Global Settings tab on the right-hand side.

NVIDIA Control Panel Global Settings tab

Step 4 – Click on the dropdown next to Vertical sync, and change it to On/ Off.

Vertical sync on off toggle switch

Step 5 – Click on Apply from the bottom.

On A Game – CS:GO 2

Step 1 – Click on Settings Menu.
Step 2 – Click on the Video tab and the Advanced Video option beneath.
Step 3 – Next to Wait for vertical sync choose the Enabled/ Disabled dropdown.

Should I Enable VSync or Not

Now that you understand VSync let’s understand when to enable or disable it.

When To Enable It?

If you have a monitor with a lower refresh rate or even one that is equal to the game’s frame rate, you can enable the Vsync feature.

When To Disable It?

You can disable the option if your monitor has a high refresh rate and you don’t notice frequent screen tearing. However, if you see a drop in frame rates, you may want to disable the VSync option.

That said, whether or not to enable it depends on the game you are playing and also on your GPU. For example, as a competitive player who can’t withstand lags, enabling VSync can be more harmful than beneficial.

VSync – Use It Wisely

In the end, I would like to conclude by saying that VSync is a great setting to enable as it helps prevent screen tearing issues. It also prevents your GPU from getting overworked in most instances. But if you already have a PC with a high refresh rate, don’t notice screen tearing very often, or have started to notice lags after enabling it, it is advisable to turn VSync off.

If you use VSync in your games, share your experience in the comments below. For more such content, keep reading Systweak Blogs.

The mouse is one of the most important peripherals connected to your PC. You can use a computer without a keyboard, but not vice versa. This is why hardware manufacturers designed wireless mice that run on Bluetooth and batteries. Undoubtedly, they are better than wired mice, but the troubleshooting methods are rather complex when a wireless mouse is not working, even when the light is turned on. In this article, we have compiled a list of different methods that can be used to fix various issues, such as the wireless mouse not turning on and more when working on Windows.

Why Is My Wireless Mouse Not Working?

There can be multiple reasons why the wireless mouse is not detected or working on a laptop or desktop. Here is a list of reasons that will also help you understand the cause of the issue and judge which relevant steps you should take to fix it.

  • Dirty Lens Of the Wireless Mouse
  • Hardware damage
  • Low battery
  • Bluetooth connectivity issues.
  • USB port issue.
  • Missing, outdated, and corrupt drivers

Now that the reasons for this issue are clear let’s move on to the troubleshooting part.

After you complete each step, we recommend you check if your wireless mouse is working properly. This way, you can stop troubleshooting and ignore the remaining methods when your mouse starts working.

Expert-Recommended Methods to Fix Wireless Mouse Not Working

Before we troubleshoot the mouse that is not detected or working in Windows, we suggest you physically check the power button on it and ensure it is turned on. Also, wipe the mouse with a clean cloth because dust particles in the Bluetooth sensor area might interfere with signals.

Category 1 Basic troubleshooting Methods These steps will help fix most issues with your wireless mouse.
1 Check For Hardware Damage Physical examination of the device.
2 Replace Batteries Change the old batteries with new ones.
3 Remove Metal Objects Remove all the clutter near your PC.
4 Change USB Port Use another USB port
5 Disable USB Power management Turn off the USB auto power off
6 Reset USB Ports Refresh USB Ports
7 Reconnect Mouse Add a new Bluetooth device
8 Update Drivers Replace existing drivers with updated ones.
9 Update Windows Download and install all the latest updates.
10 Check For Malware Run an antimalware scan
Category 2 Specific Troubleshooting Steps These troubleshooting steps are related specifically to the Wireless mouse not working.
1 Deactivate The Realtek HD Audio Manager Disable Realtek HD Audio Manager
2 Turn Off The Disappearing Cursor Feature Disable The Disappearing Cursor Feature
3 Turn Off Fast Start-Up Disable Fast Start-Up
Category 3 Advanced Troubleshooting Steps These advanced steps help resolve multiple issues on your PC
1 Fix System Files. Run a SFC Scan
2 Perform A System Restore Restore your system to an earlier date.

Method 1: Check The Mouse For Hardware Damage

Damaged PC Mouse
The first step is to check for hardware damage. Wireless mice are delicate pieces of hardware compared to their wired counterparts. Check the outer body of the mouse to verify any physical damage and try to shake it. If you hear any noise of parts moving about, this mouse may be broken.
In case of minor physical damage, try connecting this mouse to a different PC to check if it works. If it does not, the chances of replacing the mouse increase.

Also, if you have a different wireless mouse, try using it on your PC. This will help identify if there is an internal problem within your PC. Move to the third step if the mouse works fine with another PC.

Method 2: Replace The Batteries

Replacing Batteries

The wireless mouse may not have a physical defect, but the batteries may have worn out. We recommend replacing the mouse batteries with fresh, new ones and then trying to connect the device to your PC. If your mouse works on a charge, we suggest you plug it in to charge for 30 minutes and then try again.

Method 3: Ensure The Absence Of Any Metal Devices Nearby

Computer Devices

Interference may arise from nearby metal devices, so relocate them or the system if they are too close to any TVs, phones, or speakers. Additionally, position the mouse within adequate range of the USB receiver and check if it works fine when near the receiver.

Method 4: Change The USB Port

Computer USB Port

Let us assume there is no physical defect, and the batteries are okay; the next step is to use a different USB port on your PC to resolve the mouse that is not detected or working in Windows.

The wireless mouse comes with a USB receiver that is generally plugged into one of your PC’s USB ports. The USB port may develop issues over time and stop working. It may also not detect any external drive you wish to plug in. In such cases, just remove the USB receiver from the current port and plug it into another port. Then, check if the wireless mouse has started working.

Method 5: Turn Off The USB Power Management

Another fix we have tried to resolve the windows 10 PC does not recognize wireless mouse or is disabling the USB Power Management. Here are the steps:

Step 1: Press Win + R to open the RUN box type “devmgmt. msc” and press the OK button.

type devmgmt command

Step 2: The Device Manager window will now open. Locate Universal Serial Bus Controllers and click on it to expand the list.

Universal Serial Bus controllers

Step 3: Look for USB Root Hub and double-click on it to open the Properties box.
Step 4: Click on the “Power Management” tab and uncheck “Allow the Computer to Turn Off This Device to Save Power.” USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) PropertiesStep 5: Click “OK”.
Step 6: Repeat the steps for all the USB Root Hub entities in the Device Manager and restart the PC.
Step 7: Remove and reconnect the USB receiver, and check if the wireless mouse is working properly.

Step 5: Repeat the steps for all the entries that state USB Root Hub.
Step 6: Reboot your PC, and all the USB Root Hub entities will be reinstalled automatically.

Method 7: Reconnect The Mouse As A Bluetooth Device.

All wireless devices must be connected to the PC via Bluetooth. The connection between the mouse and your PC may have developed an issue. Here are the steps to add a new Bluetooth device and connect your wireless mouse to your PC again.

Step 1: Press Win + I to open the Settings.
Step 2: Click on Bluetooth and Devices in the left panel.
Step 3: Click the Add Device button with the “+” symbol.

Bluetooth and Devices

Step 4: Click “Bluetooth Audio devices, Mice…” next.

Add a device option

Step 5: Windows will search for the nearby devices, select your wireless mouse, and proceed with the online instructions.

Method 8: Update Drivers

After the new wireless mouse connection has been set, the device should work properly. But if you still face issues, the drivers could be held responsible. Drivers are small programs that help establish communication between the software (OS) and the Hardware (Mouse). If these driver files are outdated, missing, or corrupted, you can face the mouse not working issue. Here are three methods to update wireless mouse drivers:

  • Use The OEM Website

All the hardware manufacturers maintain an official website for their products. You can download the updated drivers from the OEM website and install them on your PC.

  • Use Device Manager

Device Manager
Microsoft has provided its Windows users with an inbuilt tool known as the Device Manager. This tool helps users choose the driver they wish to update and search for the latest drivers available on Microsoft Servers.

  • Use Advanced Driver Updater

The final option to update drivers is using a third-party tool called Advanced Driver Updater. This amazing tool can scan your PC, identify outdated, missing, and corrupt drivers, and replace them with newer ones. Here are the steps:

Step 1: Download and Install Advanced Driver Updater from the Download button below.

Step 2: Launch the app and click the Start Scan Now button.

scan outdated drivers

Step 3: A list of driver anomalies will appear on the screen after the scan.

adu scan start1

Step 4: Locate the Wireless Mouse driver and click the Update button next to it.
Step 5: After the driver update process completes, reboot your PC.

Method 9: Update Windows

After you have successfully updated the drivers, it is recommended that you update the Windows OS. Here are the steps:

Step 1: Press Win + I to open the Windows Settings.
Step 2: Click on Windows Update in the left section.
Step 3: Next, click the Check For Updates button on the side.

Windows 11 update
Step 4: Click Download and Install under each update to begin the updation process.
Step 5: Reboot the system.

Have you ever encountered a situation where you had to give your hard drive or PC to someone else forever? Or have you ever passed on your older PC to your younger sibling or sold it to someone else for an upgrade? The first thing one does in such situations is delete personal information and remove all the data from the hard drive.

Sadly, that is not enough! Yes, you read that correctly. Your data is no longer safe even after removal, as it can be quickly recovered using data recovery techniques. The only thing that can help you clear your hard drive is to wipe it thoroughly.

But how do you wipe the hard drive completely? Most users only rely on basic format techniques to clear their drives. They do not know that data remains in the storage blocks even after formatting and can be recovered.

So, does that mean your data is not safe? That may not be the case, as you can simply use hard drive-wiping techniques to clear the drive once and for all. In this post, let us look at a few methods for completely wiping a hard drive.

Scenarios when you should wipe the hard drive – Windows 10

  • When switching to an SSD drive
  • When discarding a computer or exchanging it for a new one
  • When throwing away a damaged hard drive
  • When restoring a hard drive

Ways to Wipe Hard Drive Completely – 100% Working

To wipe a hard drive on your computer, you must ensure you have taken a backup. If not, we suggest you do it as a priority, as after wiping the drive, you cannot recover it again.

After doing so, try the following methods –

Steps to Create a Windows Recovery Drive in Windows 11 or 10

  • In Windows search, type recovery drive.
  • Select the best search results to open the Recovery Drive menu.  Create a Windows Recovery Drive
  • Select the box next to the Backup system to the recovery drive> click Next.  create recovery drive
  • Connect the USB drive with a minimum of 8GB of free space > click Next > Create.

Once the Windows recovery drive is created, and the backup of important data is done, you are ready to wipe the hard drive. Follow the steps below to wipe the hard drive.

Method 1 – Wipe Drive on Windows 11 Via Reset

To wipe data on Windows 11, we recommend you use the Reset option with dedicated settings. When you reset the PC, all your settings and data are cleared. However, there are added settings that you can opt for to clean the drive thoroughly.

Step 1 – Press Win+I to open System Settings.
Step 2 – Scroll in the system settings and select Recovery.

Step 3 – You can click on Reset PC from the opened menu.
Step 4 – Select the option that you want to remove everything.

Step 5 – In the next step, select the local reinstall as it is more efficient.

Step 6 – In the next step, select the clean data option to ensure that all the data is removed.

Once your PC is reset, it should have a clean hard drive. All your data will be removed, and your PC will be brand new. More importantly, your PC’s hard drive is wiped completely, so a recovery application may not be able to recover its files.

However, there is a downside: manual data recovery experts can help recover the data if appropriately executed. This is also why other methods are available for the task.

Method 2 – Wiping Hard Drive Using Disk Management Tool

You can use the disk management tool to explore system options to delete the files completely. It may appear complicated, but it can do the job nicely.

Step 1 – Press Win+X to bring up the quick access menu on your PC.
Step 2 – From the menu, select Disk Management to open the utility.

Step 3 – Right-click the disk you are facing issues with > select Initialize.

Step 4 – Select GPT and click OK.select gpt

Step 5 – Select the NTFS file system and format the selected disk.Select NTFS file system

Once you have formatted the drive, you can restart your PC. Again, the issue lies in how data recovery is carried out. If it is an automated process, you may be safe; however, if data recovery is done manually, even this method may not be effective.

Method 3 – Wipe Hard Drive Using a Third-Party Application

If you have super confidential documents on your PC and do not rely on basic reset methods, you can try the Secure Delete feature offered by Advanced System Optimizer. This internal software module allows you to dedicatedly delete files and wipe data completely from the drive.

Secure Delete is a feature that you can find in the Advanced System Optimizer application. It allows you to do more than delete a file. You can delete a single file or wipe the hard drive completely. Here are the steps that can help you out –

Step 1 – Download, Install, and Launch Advanced System Optimizer.

Step 2 – Click Security & Privacy from the left pane > double-click Secure Delete.

Step 3 – Click the Drive tab.

Step 4—Select the hard drive from the drop-down list you wish to scan for deleted files and folders. This will help permanently remove deleted files and folders.

Select from the three options:

Wipe deleted files only – permanently wipe out the files that have been previously deleted from the selected hard drive.

Wipe the entire drive – securely delete all the contents (existing and previously deleted) of the selected drive so that nothing is recoverable.

Wipe free space – Choose this option to identify the free space and overwrite data on it so that no chances of data retrieval are left.

Note : To change these settings, use the Settings tab.

Step 5 -Once you choose the hard drive and what kind of wipe to do, continue by clicking “Start Scan Now.”start scan process

Step 6 -Once the scan is complete, the scan results are displayed. Click the “Wipe Now” button and securely delete the files and folders found in the scan.

Step 7 -Enter the code to proceed and click the Wipe button.

click the wipe process

Step 8 -Take a look at the summary and click Finish.

The way this works is pretty convenient, considering you can be double-assured when wiping the files. If you have already used method 1, you can rerun this app to remove all the deleted files from the drive’s core. Not to mention, if you want to delete existing files and wipe the drive, you have the option, too.

By wiping a hard drive, you can ensure that all your data is securely deleted, and you have no fear of giving your data away to the wrong hands. We recommend downloading the Advanced System Optimizer and using Secure Delete for all three methods. It makes it super easy to wipe your data and gives you all the options you may require.

We hope this post helps you wipe the hard drive completely. Thanks for reading. Good luck.
